Career Goals:
My experiences in health-related research have allowed me to see how useful and necessary data is in evaluating outcomes and informing policy changes. My goal is to use data to make healthcare systems more efficient, safe, and affordable. I'm particularly interested in eye tracking devices, and how they can be used to improve the UX/UI of health IT.
Background:
I grew up in northern VA and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015 with a BS in Psychology. Before moving to NC in 2016, I worked as a research assistant in VCU's Department of Health Behavior and Policy. Since then, I have been working in UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy's Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy as a research specialist. Most of my research experience is in cancer prevention and control via digital interventions, with a focus on colon and breast cancer screenings.
Why UNC?:
I chose UNC because of their great reputation and top ranking programs. I think the Research Triangle area is poised to become the next "Silicon Valley of the South", with UNC already excelling in healthcare, research, and IT opportunities for their graduates.
