Career Goals:
I aim to enter a healthcare IT career where I get to collaborate with other industry professionals to utilize data and information systems to better serve the needs of the organization I am a part of, and ultimately advance the greater cause of improving health outcomes for the community around me.
Background:
My professional experience so far spans over three years of providing solutions and services in information technology roles across higher education, retail and government settings. I earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics at Indiana University in 2017. My interest in the healthcare informatics industry was cultivated through participating in a National Institutes of Health sponsored biostatistics exposure program in 2016, where I worked on a project analyzing and interpreting data of historical clinical trials.
Why UNC?:
I chose the PSM program at UNC-Chapel Hill because I want to develop a tangible set of industry oriented skills as well as valuable business acumen to succeed in a healthcare informatics career. Additionally, I am eager to gain the opportunity to network and collaborate with the vast network of organizations and professionals in the industry at UNC and the surrounding area.
